What is the Mississippi Wrongful Death Statute of Limitations?

Video Transcript
In Mississippi, the wrongful death statute of limitations, in most cases, is going to be three years. If the claim, however, is against a governmental entity, as is defined by Mississippi statutes, then that could be as short as only one year, with certain steps needed to be taken in order to provide notice and to take statutory proof steps within one year. In cases involving medical malpractice, nursing homes, or health care entities, that statute of limitations would be shortened to two years in many cases.
