We need to be contacted as soon as possible after a bus accident case. We need to be able to get to the scene to interview witnesses, some of whom may not be just other bus passengers. There may be people outside of the bus who saw the incident and would be able to tell what happened, be able to identify at fault parties, and to describe the scene.
We also want to be involved immediately so that we can look for any type of video that might be available. Video surveillance may be from nearby businesses. Also, it’s possible people on the bus may have been taking video at the time or there may be Good Samaritans, or others who were nearby, who were taking some kind of video.
Another reason we need to be involved immediately is, we immediately contact the bus company and demand that they preserve any video that’s in a bus. You know, nowadays, most buses have onboard cameras and that needs to be preserved.
