Rodrequez C. Watson (“Rod”) is a dedicated attorney at Nahon, Saharovich & Trotz Personal Injury Attorneys, bringing a wealth of local knowledge and diverse legal experience to his practice. A native Memphian and graduate of Whitehaven High School, Rod has deep roots in the community he serves.
Rod’s educational journey includes a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Middle Tennessee State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. During law school, Rod served as Editor-in-Chief of the Mental Health Law & Policy Journal and gained valuable experience through several key positions. He clerked for the Honorable Jerry Stokes in the Circuit Court of Shelby County, Tennessee, Division VI, and interned in the Chambers of Justice Janice Holder of the Tennessee Supreme Court. Rod also served as an extern for both the City of Memphis and the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Criminal Court of Shelby County, Tennessee.
Before joining NST, Rod practiced primarily in insurance defense, representing healthcare companies, practitioners, and various businesses. His experience also includes pre-suit investigations, representation in appellate matters and cases involving bad faith insurance denials, breach of contract, products liability, and premises liability. Rod’s approach to each case is both strategic and empathetic. He leverages his experience and insight on both sides of personal injury and insurance matters to build strong cases for his clients, anticipating and countering potential defense tactics.
Licensed to practice in Tennessee State Courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, Rod is equipped to represent clients across various legal forums.
Rod’s peers have recognized his professional excellence. He has been named to the Super Lawyers Mid-South Rising Stars list for two consecutive years (2023-2024), an honor given to no more than 2.5% of attorneys in the Mid-South region. Additionally, he has been featured on the Lawyers of Color Hot List in both 2022 and 2023.
