Attorney Amber Stephens was born and raised in rural West Tennessee, hailing from Halls, Tennessee, a small town in Lauderdale County. Ms. Stephens graduated from Halls High School in 2000, continued her studies at Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee, from 2000 through 2003, and then transferred to the University of Tennessee at Martin where she graduated cum laude in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Ms. Stephens then attended the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, graduating in 2008 and earning her Juris Doctor degree.
During law school, Ms. Stephens was active in several student organizations aimed at pro bono service, and she also participated in the Elder Law Clinic as a student attorney. She helped elderly clients with a host of legal issues, from drafting powers of attorney and last wills and testaments to representing them in collection actions, landlord-tenant disputes, and other civil claims. Ms. Stephens’ experience in the Elder Law Clinic permitted her to see firsthand how she could use her law degree to help the people who need it the most during their most difficult times.
After law school, Ms. Stephens practiced at a general practice law firm in Haywood County, Tennessee, before returning to Memphis, Tennessee, to practice at an immigration law firm. During this time, Ms. Stephens was active in various pro bono projects around the Memphis area, including the Memphis Area Legal Services Saturday Legal Clinic, and she also organized a pro bono citizenship workshop to provide immigrants with free legal assistance in filing their naturalization applications.
Ms. Stephens’ work experience with the elderly and immigration populations allowed her to see how important attorney guidance and assistance can be, especially for vulnerable groups of people who have limited access to the legal system and whose voices often go unheard. Ms. Stephens’ passion for aiding people during their time of need serves her well in her current role at Nahon, Saharovich & Trotz. Since 2014, Ms. Stephens has been employed as an Associate Attorney in the Jackson, Tennessee location with her practice primarily focused in the areas of automobile and trucking accidents, workers’ compensation, and personal injury.
Ms. Stephens believes that injured clients deserve not only an attorney who will fight to get them adequate compensation for their injuries but also one who will treat them with compassion and understanding while doing so. Ms. Stephens’ ability to be a good listener and lend a patient and sympathetic ear to injured parties can often allow her to learn important details about her clients’ injuries and how those injuries affect their daily lives, which is important information to have when negotiating with insurance companies.
Ms. Stephens is a mother of two boys, ages eight and one, and is married to Bradley Stephens, also a Lauderdale County, Tennessee native. Ms. Stephens is an avid sports fan and enjoys attending her older son’s baseball games and watching Halls High School football games from her front steps as she now proudly lives right across the street from her high school alma mater. Ms. Stephens is also actively involved in her church, assisting with the youth and serving on various committees.
If you are injured and are looking for an attorney who will treat you with compassion while steadfastly pursuing justice on your behalf, then Ms. Stephens is happy to speak with you about your case. Ms. Stephens is a member of the Madison County Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association and a regular attendee at personal injury legal education clinics to stay up to date on any new developments in personal injury law.
