According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, a 32-year-old man has been arrested for his role in a fatal car accident in Memphis, Tennessee, on August 3, 2011. The crash occurred on Interstate 240 in South Memphis. Memphis police reported the man was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe when he crashed into another vehicle on Interstate 240 near South Parkway. A 4-year-old boy in that SUV was killed and a 15-month-old baby in the SUV was injured. After crashing into the SUV, the man fled the scene, running into two other cars on his way out. Police located the driver later that night and charged him with driving under the influence (“DUI”), reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and vehicular assault.
A drunk driving accident can occur anywhere, including Interstate 40, Interstate 240, and Interstate 55 in Shelby County. If you have lost a loved one in a car accident caused by a drunk driver, you may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, pain and suffering, and lost income. At Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”), we are aware of the many ways a family member can suffer after losing a loved one. While aggressively pursuing maximum compensation on behalf of clients, we are sympathetic towards their situation and the difficulties they face during this complicated period. To learn more about the Tennessee auto accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz, call 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004 today.
In a car accident lawsuit, a client may be able to recover compensation from a negligent driver’s insurance company. However, if a defendant driver does not have insurance, NST Law can file an Uninsured Motorist claim for maximum compensation. To help clients recover maximum damages, NST lawyers utilize experts from various fields. If a deceased incurs medical bills between the accident and his death, NST Law can consult with doctors to document those bills. These expenses may include surgeries, X-rays, and medication. A second type of expert NST Law may retain is a vocational economist. This expert can project the lost income the deceased would have earned over the course of his lifetime. In addition, NST Law can retain psychiatric experts to determine the pain, suffering, and emotional distress that surviving family members experience following the tragic accident. Finally, since driving under the influence of alcohol is illegal in Tennessee, your NST lawyer may pursue punitive damages if the defendant driver has been convicted of DUI.

According to WSMV Nashville, the city of Nashville, Tennessee, has been awarded a $1.9 million grant to improve pedestrian safety in Davidson County. Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer announced the grant on August 1, 2011. The grant will go towards the Harding Place Pedestrian Network Project, an effort to enhance pedestrian safety in an area that includes multi-family residences, shopping, churches, and a hospital. Haslam said the project should encourage more people in the area to walk to their destinations.
At Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”), our personal injury attorneys advocate pedestrian safety and aggressively pursue maximum compensation for pedestrians hit by cars or trucks. According to MarketWatch, Protext Mobility, Inc., a developer of mobile phone software and applications, has created DriveAlert, a cell phone application intended to reduce distracted driving. The application, now available for Android phone users, detects when the user is driving and automatically puts the cell phone in “DriveAlert” mode. DriveAlert then blocks incoming phone calls, text messages, and emails and sends an auto-reply message to those who send text messages. In case of an emergency, a driver can override the DriveAlert system to make calls and send messages. DriveAlert’s target audience is drivers under the age of 20 years old, the age group with the highest proportion of distracted drivers involved in fatal car crashes in the United States.
Drivers today have more distractions than ever. Typical distractions include car radios, CD players, and GPS devices. Now, drivers can use cell phones in their cars, which can serve as mobile computers. A driver can be tempted to use his smart phone to make calls, send text messages and emails, surf the Internet, or play a game. When a driver looks down at his cell phone, he is not paying full attention to the road. When a driver is distracted, he is more likely to be involved in a car accident. If you have been injured in a car accident caused by someone who was texting while driving, call the Tennessee auto accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004.
No matter the severity of your injuries, NST Law can handle your case. Throughout the years, we have represented victims with paraplegia, quadriplegia, broken vertebrae, lost limbs, and brain trauma. To help you recover maximum damages for medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and permanent disability, your NST lawyer can work to negotiate a pre-trial settlement or file a lawsuit and fight for you in court. NST lawyers have many resources at their disposal to prove your damages and suffering to a jury or judge. For example, NST Law can retain medical experts to document all medical bills incurred because of the car accident, including future physical therapy costs. NST Law can consult with vocational economists to project diminished earning capacity if your injuries prevent you from returning to your position at work. NST Law can also show a jury the crippling effects of a debilitating injury through a day-in-the-life video. Finally, NST Law can retain psychiatric specialists to determine the pain and suffering you experience as a result of the accident.
To speak to a Shelby County car accident attorney at NST Law, call 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004 or visit us at www.nstlaw.com. Texting while driving is illegal in Tennessee, and a Team NST lawyer can examine cell phone tower data to prove a driver violated that law at the time of your crash. By calling NST Law, you can receive a free initial consultation with one of our trained personal injury attorneys. Call today to see if you may be eligible to recover compensation for your car crash injuries.

According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, a Texas truck driver has been issued a citation by Memphis police for his role in a recent crash in Memphis, Tennessee. On July 24, 2011, the trucker was driving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 55 near Crump Avenue when he crashed into a side railing. The truck caught on fire and burned on the interstate, holding up traffic. Police determined the driver was traveling over the 55 miles per hour speed limit at the time of the accident.
If you or a loved one has been injured in a car accident involving a big rig or tractor-trailer, call the Tennessee trucking accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) today at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004. For over twenty years, the lawyers at NST Law have represented many trucking accident victims in Tennessee who have been severely injured. In a trucking accident case, it is critical to immediately begin to investigate the accident. In certain traumatic injury cases, NST Law will consult with an expert who can help reconstruct the accident. This allows NST Law to help prove negligence so that an injured victim can recover maximum compensation. In addition, a Team NST lawyer may review a Memphis Police Department accident report or Tennessee Highway Patrol accident report to prove another driver’s fault. Key evidence on the highways of Interstate 40, Interstate 55, and Interstate 240 can be lost if the investigation is not conducted in a timely fashion.
NST lawyers have knowledge of the complex rules involving commercial trucks and tractor-trailers. Truck drivers are often subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, which mandate safety requirements when operating these types of vehicles. For example, drivers are only allowed to be on duty for a certain number of hours each day. In addition, truck drivers may be subject to mandatory drug testing after an accident. NST lawyers have experience interpreting trucking laws to help an injured victim recover maximum compensation. Your NST lawyer may consult with experts who can help analyze truck drivers’ logbooks to ensure that they are consistent with the actual number of hours driven. By proving a trucker violated a trucking regulation at the time of the accident, your NST lawyer can seek maximum compensation from that trucker’s insurance company. In a trucking accident lawsuit, NST lawyers can pursue damages for medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and permanent disability. To prove these damages, your NST lawyer can consult with medical experts, physical rehabilitation experts, vocational economists, and psychiatric experts.

According to WMC Memphis, a van carrying 11 people from a church group crashed off Interstate 40 in Humphreys County, Tennessee, on July 28, 2011. The van was traveling to Maury County, Tennessee, from a church “lock-in” in Munford, Tennessee. One person died in the crash, and three children were transported by helicopter to a children’s hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. The children are listed in critical condition. A Tennessee Highway Patrol official reported other passengers were injured as well. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The lawyers of Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) handle cases involving catastrophic injuries caused by the negligence of drivers in motor vehicle accidents. In order to recover compensation for injuries, one must prove that another driver caused the accident. Therefore, NST lawyers thoroughly investigate each accident to determine the at-fault party. The best time to investigate is immediately after an accident. Key evidence such as tire marks can be lost, witnesses can disappear, and memories may fade as time goes on. A Memphis auto accident attorney from NST Law may visit the scene of the accident or hire an accident reconstruction expert to reconstruct the crash to determine a driver’s negligence. In this case, NST lawyers may contact the Tennessee Highway Patrol to find out exactly how the accident occurred. We may interview witnesses to help bolster our client’s theory of liability. If you or a loved one has been involved in a car accident in Memphis or a surrounding county, call the Tennessee auto accident lawyers at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004 so that we can begin investigating your claim.
An accident involving a large van can result in devastating and catastrophic injuries or even wrongful death. These debilitating injuries include paraplegia, quadriplegia, vertebrae damage, brain trauma, and loss of limbs.  That is why the lawyers at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz work hard at developing the damages portion of each personal injury claim. In traumatic injury cases, NST lawyers may retain medical experts who can render an opinion as to permanent impairment, restrictions, and disfigurement. In addition, NST lawyers may hire a vocational economist to calculate lost wages and diminished earning capacity. For particularly debilitating and permanent injuries, NST Law may commission a day-in-the-life video to show how the injury has affected our client’s life and ability to perform routine tasks. These experts help NST lawyers pursue damages for medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and permanent disability.
If you have been injured in a car accident on Interstate 40 or Interstate 55, call the Tennessee auto accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004. NST Law is the largest plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Tennessee and has the resources, knowledge, and experience to effectively handle your case. At NST Law, we aggressively pursue maximum compensation while doing everything to take care of our client every step of the way. Do not hesitate to call Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz today if you have sustained injuries in an auto accident anywhere in Tennessee.

According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, Great Smoky Mountains National Park rangers recently arrested seven drivers for driving under the influence (“DUI”) during a two-week effort to increase awareness of the dangers of driving while intoxicated. In addition to arresting drivers for DUI, park rangers arrested three people for public intoxication and issued 36 citations for open alcohol containers, underage possession of alcohol, possession of a control substance, speeding, littering, and failure to wear a seatbelt. During this two-week period, park rangers conducted two sobriety checkpoints.
In 2010, 75 drivers were arrested for DUI in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. 11 of those intoxicated drivers were involved in some type of car accident. Since alcohol can inhibit a driver’s judgment, the Knoxville auto accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) encourage all drivers in Tennessee to think before they drink and drive. If you have been injured by a drunk driver, call the Knox County auto accident attorneys at NST Law at 865-684-1000 or 1-800-LAW-4004 to see if you may be entitled to compensation from a defendant driver or insurance company.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, a California jury recently awarded $29.2 million dollars to surviving victims of a 2006 car crash that killed two children. A man drove his SUV across the centerline of a highway and crashed head-on into the victims’ Toyota. Police said the SUV driver was traveling 65 to 80 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone. Two of the children in the Toyota were killed. A third child was paralyzed from the waist down. An adult in the Toyota was hospitalized for over two months with multiple fractures. The jury found the driver to be negligent as well as the state because it failed to install a barrier or make improvements on the highway, which had been the scene of many fatal accidents in the past.
