According to WSMV Nashville, the city of Nashville, Tennessee, has been awarded a $1.9 million grant to improve pedestrian safety in Davidson County. Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer announced the grant on August 1, 2011. The grant will go towards the Harding Place Pedestrian Network Project, an effort to enhance pedestrian safety in an area that includes multi-family residences, shopping, churches, and a hospital. Haslam said the project should encourage more people in the area to walk to their destinations.
At Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”), our personal injury attorneys advocate pedestrian safety and aggressively pursue maximum compensation for pedestrians hit by cars or trucks. When a moving vehicle crashes into a pedestrian, devastating results can occur. A child can be hit walking to or from school. A pedestrian can be hit in a crosswalk because a driver is not paying attention. The injured pedestrian can suffer debilitating injuries, including spinal cord damage, broken vertebrae, brain trauma, or organ damage. It is important to recover maximum compensation from a defendant driver to ensure these medical conditions are properly treated. To learn how the Tennessee pedestrian accident attorneys at NST Law can help you recover maximum damages for medical bills, pain and suffering, permanent disability, and lost wages, call NST Law at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004.
NST Law has over twenty years experience handling pedestrian accidents cases arising out of a driver’s negligence. A negligent driver, for example, may fail to yield the right of way to a pedestrian, ignore a traffic light or stop sign, fail to look while driving across a crosswalk, drive over the speed limit, or drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Your NST lawyer can prove a defendant driver’s negligence by speaking to witnesses, asking to speak with law enforcement officials who investigated the accident, or retaining an accident reconstruction expert to recreate the crash.
Your NST lawyer can aggressively pursue damages for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and permanent disability with the help of various experts. Over the years, NST lawyers have developed relationship with specialists, including medical experts who can document past and future medical bills, vocational economists who can document lost wages and forecast diminished earning capacity, and psychiatric doctors who can evaluate a victim’s mental health and determine the extent of his suffering. If a victim suffers a debilitating or permanent injury, an NST lawyer can commission a day-in-the-life video to show a judge or jury how these injuries affect his ability to perform daily tasks and routine bodily functions.

According to the Charlotte Observer, a 50-year-old tractor-trailer driver caused an accident that killed three motorists and injured a fourth near Durham, North Carolina, on June 30, 2011. The driver was traveling on Interstate 40 when he crashed into a pickup truck. He then crashed into two other vehicles. Â State Troopers found drug paraphernalia in the tractor-trailer and reported the truck driver was under the influence of marijuana and methadone when he caused the crash. Further, the trucking company had been cited for numerous violations regarding unsafe and fatigued drivers in the past.
If you have lost a loved one in a fatal trucking accident, call the Memphis trucking accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (”NST Law”) at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004 today. In Tennessee, big rig truck drivers and trucking companies are required to follow various state and federal rules, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. These safety measures include limiting a driver’s number of daily on-duty hours, prohibiting a driver from operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and requiring companies to perform background checks on prospective drivers. If a trucker or trucking company violated one of these regulations and caused a fatal trucking accident, the trucker or trucking company could be considered negligent, and surviving family members of a deceased victim may be entitled to compensation.
Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz, with over twenty years experience handling trucking accident cases and lawsuits in Tennessee, knows how to prove a truck driver or trucking company’s negligence. In a typical trucking accident case, NST Law can examine the accident report, ask to speak to local law enforcement officials, and interview key witnesses as soon after the crash as possible. In addition, NST Law may retain an investigator to recover evidence from the scene of the crash and hire an accident reconstruction expert to recreate the accident. By proving negligence, NST Law can help clients recover every dollar they are legally entitled to. NST lawyers may retain medical experts to document any hospital bills incurred by the deceased between the crash and his or her death. According to WREG Memphis, a 17-year-old high school student is in critical condition at the MED in Memphis, Tennessee, after being hit by two cars on May 26, 2011. The accident occurred at the intersection of Deluth Road and Knight Way in Southeast Memphis. That night, two cars were drag racing without their lights on near that intersection. When the victim was crossing the street, he was struck by one of the cars. He flew in the air and, upon falling to the ground, was struck by the other vehicle. The victim, a high school football player with a scholarship offer to play football at the University of Mississippi, broke two legs, an arm, ribs, his pelvis, and his back. Although the injuries do not appear to be life threatening, the victim’s future as a football player is uncertain.
Drag racing is a dangerous activity, especially on streets in residential areas. When drag racers drive at high speeds, other drivers, passengers, and pedestrians are put in harm’s way. Victims of these accidents can suffer physical injuries, such as amputation of a limb, vertebrae damage, brain trauma, or organ damage. These injuries can require long hospital stays, costly surgeries, and years of expensive physical therapy and rehabilitation. Further, injuries can affect the way a victim lives his or her life and earns a living. For instance, this drag racing crash could ruin the victim’s potential future as a football player. If you have been injured in a car accident in South Memphis or Shelby County, call Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004 to learn how our personal injury attorneys can fight for you to recover maximum compensation for medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and permanent disability.  Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz, also known as NST Law, is the largest plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Tennessee that pursues maximum compensation for persons injured in car accidents in Memphis and throughout Tennessee.

Parties injured in car or truck accidents can receive compensation due to someone else’s negligence. The state of Tennessee recently enacted a new law prohibiting the sending and reading of text messages while operating a motor vehicle. When a car is in motion, the driver cannot use his or her mobile phone to send or receive written messages. This law only applies to cars in motion, and the penalty for violating this law is a monetary fine. Tennessee also has a law prohibiting reckless or careless driving, and texting while driving serves as evidence of a violation. In this scenario, the lawyers of Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz will utilize this law to help its clients obtain maximum compensation against an at-fault driver. However, if a victim of a car accident is found to have violated either of these laws at the time he or she was injured in the accident, the defendant’s insurance company may try to deny the claim entirely. This is why it is important for our lawyers to investigate each accident as soon as possible.
