According to the Tennessean, a survivor of a near-fatal drunken driving car accident will address 440 high school students in Nashville, Tennessee, in November 2011. The accident occurred in 1994, when the speaker was 17 years old. After drinking alcohol at a Knoxville bar, the speaker decided to drive himself home. He lost control of his vehicle and eventually crashed into a tree. He was airlifted to a Knoxville hospital where he was comatose for three months. The speaker has referred to the decision to drink and drive as the “biggest mistake of [his] life.”
Back in 1994, the speaker felt an urge shared by many Tennesseans today, to get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol. Sometimes drivers disregard the risks of driving while intoxicated and place themselves and others in harm’s way. If you have lost a loved one in a car accident caused by a drunk driver in Shelby County, call Corey B. Trotz, an experienced Memphis auto accident attorney, at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004. Corey B. Trotz practices law at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”), a large plaintiff’s personal injury law firm that fights for car accident victims and families.
You can feel confident that Team NST can properly handle your claim. NST lawyers stay up to date with the latest Tennessee driving and insurance laws, courtroom trends, and litigation techniques. NST lawyers utilize this knowledge when developing the damages portion of a personal injury claim. Losing a loved one may entitle surviving family members to damages for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Your NST lawyer can retain experts to calculate and prove these damages. For instance, medical experts can document the cost of hospital bills and procedures incurred by the deceased between the crash and his death. Vocational economists can calculate the deceased’s lost wages. Psychiatric experts can speak with surviving loved ones and determine the extent of mental pain, suffering, and emotional stress experienced as a result of the fatal crash. Your NST lawyer may also pursue punitive damages if the defendant driver was convicted of driving under the influence (DUI). Memphis courts award punitive damages to deter defendants and members of the community from engaging in a certain conduct such as drinking and driving.

According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, a 42-year-old man may face charges for his role in a recent fatal car accident. On September 17, 2011, the man was driving on U.S. Highway 25/70 in Tennessee when he approached a tractor from behind. To avoid crashing into the tractor, the man applied his brakes and swerved his vehicle into the other traffic lane, directly into the path of an oncoming Jeep. The Jeep crashed into the man’s vehicle, rolled down an embankment, and landed on its roof. The driver of the Jeep was killed, and four passengers in the Jeep, including three children, sustained injuries. The Tennessee Highway Patrol accident report alleged the 42-year-old man might have been under the influence of drugs. Police are awaiting the results of drug tests and indicate charges against the man are pending.
Fatal car accidents can bring about difficult times for surviving passengers and loved ones. In addition to the obvious pain of losing a loved one’s companionship, survivors must overcome other challenges. For example, surviving family members that were injured in the crash may incur medical bills themselves and could be forced to miss work. Surviving family members may have to find ways to replace the deceased’s lost income. Finally, family members may be responsible for medical bills incurred by the deceased between the crash and his death. If you have lost a loved one in a car wreck in Memphis, call Tennessee auto accident attorney Corey B. Trotz at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004 for a free initial consultation on your case. Corey B. Trotz practices law at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”), the largest plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Tennessee.
One key to recovering maximum compensation in a car accident case is proving liability. NST lawyers can consult with economic experts to document medical bills and compute lost wages. NST lawyers can retain psychiatric experts to determine the extent of pain and suffering you experience as a result of losing a mother, father, husband, wife, or other loved one. If a defendant driver was convicted of driving under the influence (“DUI”), your NST lawyer can pursue punitive damages. NST Law understands that Tennessee courts award punitive damages to deter members of the community from engaging in certain intolerable conduct, such as drinking and driving.

According to WSMV Nashville, two people died and one person was seriously injured in a four-car crash in Lebanon, Tennessee, on July 29, 2011. The accident occurred around noon near East High Street and Cedar Street. The two deceased victims are a young child and his grandfather. Another passenger in their car suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital. Police say the woman who caused the accident is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. An investigation is underway and charges against the woman are pending, according to local police.
Family members want the driver held responsible and accountable for her actions. The deceased child’s mother said she hopes this tragic crash will remind everyone about the dangers of drunken driving. If you have lost a loved one in a drunk driving car accident, call the Tennessee personal injury attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004. You may have a claim for wrongful death and could be entitled to recover compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. NST Law offers prospective clients a free initial consultation on their case to discuss the accident and ask questions about a typical personal injury lawsuit or car accident case.
NST Law has handled tragic car accident cases in Shelby County for over twenty years. Our attorneys are well versed with Tennessee driving laws and know how to prove a defendant driver violated one at the time of the crash. For instance, Tennessee law prohibits driving under the influence of alcohol (“DUI”). NST Law can hire a toxicologist to prove a defendant driver’s blood alcohol content was above the legal limit at the time of the crash. A driver that violates Tennessee law can be considered negligent, and a client is more likely to recover maximum compensation once negligence can be proven.
To help clients recover maximum damages, NST Law utilizes the knowledge of various experts. Medical experts can document medical bills incurred between the crash and deceased’s death, including costs for surgeries and hospital visits. Vocational economists can be retained by NST Law to compute the projected income the deceased would have earned throughout the rest of his life. Psychiatric experts can evaluate a client’s mental health and determine the pain and suffering a client experienced as a result of losing a loved one in a tragic car accident. NST Law can also apply knowledge of Tennessee law to pursue punitive damages against a defendant driver convicted of DUI. In a car accident lawsuit, punitive damages may be awarded against a driver to deter members of the public from drinking and driving.
To speak to a Tennessee auto accident attorney at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz, call 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004. NST Law is the largest plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Tennessee and has handled fatal car wreck cases for over twenty years. NST Law has 28 lawyers and a support staff of over 100 paralegals, secretaries, and investigators ready to help. Call NST Law today and let our experienced auto accident attorneys get started on your case.

According to WMC Memphis, a van carrying 11 people from a church group crashed off Interstate 40 in Humphreys County, Tennessee, on July 28, 2011. The van was traveling to Maury County, Tennessee, from a church “lock-in” in Munford, Tennessee. One person died in the crash, and three children were transported by helicopter to a children’s hospital at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. The children are listed in critical condition. A Tennessee Highway Patrol official reported other passengers were injured as well. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The lawyers of Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) handle cases involving catastrophic injuries caused by the negligence of drivers in motor vehicle accidents. In order to recover compensation for injuries, one must prove that another driver caused the accident. Therefore, NST lawyers thoroughly investigate each accident to determine the at-fault party. The best time to investigate is immediately after an accident. Key evidence such as tire marks can be lost, witnesses can disappear, and memories may fade as time goes on. A Memphis auto accident attorney from NST Law may visit the scene of the accident or hire an accident reconstruction expert to reconstruct the crash to determine a driver’s negligence. In this case, NST lawyers may contact the Tennessee Highway Patrol to find out exactly how the accident occurred. We may interview witnesses to help bolster our client’s theory of liability. If you or a loved one has been involved in a car accident in Memphis or a surrounding county, call the Tennessee auto accident lawyers at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004 so that we can begin investigating your claim.
An accident involving a large van can result in devastating and catastrophic injuries or even wrongful death. These debilitating injuries include paraplegia, quadriplegia, vertebrae damage, brain trauma, and loss of limbs.  That is why the lawyers at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz work hard at developing the damages portion of each personal injury claim. In traumatic injury cases, NST lawyers may retain medical experts who can render an opinion as to permanent impairment, restrictions, and disfigurement. In addition, NST lawyers may hire a vocational economist to calculate lost wages and diminished earning capacity. For particularly debilitating and permanent injuries, NST Law may commission a day-in-the-life video to show how the injury has affected our client’s life and ability to perform routine tasks. These experts help NST lawyers pursue damages for medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and permanent disability.
If you have been injured in a car accident on Interstate 40 or Interstate 55, call the Tennessee auto accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004. NST Law is the largest plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Tennessee and has the resources, knowledge, and experience to effectively handle your case. At NST Law, we aggressively pursue maximum compensation while doing everything to take care of our client every step of the way. Do not hesitate to call Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz today if you have sustained injuries in an auto accident anywhere in Tennessee.

According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, Great Smoky Mountains National Park rangers recently arrested seven drivers for driving under the influence (“DUI”) during a two-week effort to increase awareness of the dangers of driving while intoxicated. In addition to arresting drivers for DUI, park rangers arrested three people for public intoxication and issued 36 citations for open alcohol containers, underage possession of alcohol, possession of a control substance, speeding, littering, and failure to wear a seatbelt. During this two-week period, park rangers conducted two sobriety checkpoints.
In 2010, 75 drivers were arrested for DUI in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. 11 of those intoxicated drivers were involved in some type of car accident. Since alcohol can inhibit a driver’s judgment, the Knoxville auto accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) encourage all drivers in Tennessee to think before they drink and drive. If you have been injured by a drunk driver, call the Knox County auto accident attorneys at NST Law at 865-684-1000 or 1-800-LAW-4004 to see if you may be entitled to compensation from a defendant driver or insurance company.
Driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is against the law in Tennessee, and at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz, our auto accident attorneys know how to prove a driver was in violation of the law at the time of an accident. For example, NST lawyers can retain a toxicologist to prove alcohol or drugs were in a driver’s body at the time of the accident. By proving negligence, NST lawyers can help clients obtain maximum compensation for medical bills, lost wages, permanent disability, and pain and suffering by consulting with experts to compute damages. For instance, NST lawyers can retain medical experts to document current and future medical bills. Also, NST lawyers can consult with vocational economists to compute a victim’s lost wages or diminished future earning capacity. If a victim sustains injuries that render him permanently disabled, NST lawyers can commission a day-in-the-life video that illustrates how the injuries inhibit his ability to perform routine tasks. If a defendant driver has been convicted of DUI, a victim may be eligible to recover punitive damages. Punitive damages are designed to punish the defendant driver and deter members of the public from engaging in certain egregious conduct, such as driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. NST lawyers understand Tennessee punitive damages laws and can apply them to the unique facts of a victim’s case. With these resources at our disposal, you can feel confident NST Law will do everything to fight for you to recover every dollar you are legally entitled to.
Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz, the largest plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Tennessee, has pursued maximum damages for victims of auto accidents in Tennessee for over two decades. With 28 attorneys and a support staff of over 100 paralegals and investigators, NST Law has the tools to help you recover maximum compensation. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, a California jury recently awarded $29.2 million dollars to surviving victims of a 2006 car crash that killed two children. A man drove his SUV across the centerline of a highway and crashed head-on into the victims’ Toyota. Police said the SUV driver was traveling 65 to 80 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour zone. Two of the children in the Toyota were killed. A third child was paralyzed from the waist down. An adult in the Toyota was hospitalized for over two months with multiple fractures. The jury found the driver to be negligent as well as the state because it failed to install a barrier or make improvements on the highway, which had been the scene of many fatal accidents in the past.
If you have been injured or lost a loved one in a car accident on Interstate 40, Interstate 240, Poplar Avenue, or anywhere in Shelby County, call the Tennessee personal injury law firm of Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004. NST Law has over twenty years experience litigating car accident cases. Our attorneys have experience investigating car accidents, preparing for trial, speaking to juries, and interacting with judges. While it is often beneficial to settle a case before trial, NST Law will be prepared to go to trial if a reasonable pre-trial settlement cannot be reached.
While preparing for trial, your NST lawyer can utilize various experts to prove your medical bills, lost wages, permanent disability, and pain and suffering. These experts, including medical specialists, vocational economists, and psychiatric doctors, can place dollar values on a victim’s medical bills, lost wages, diminished earning capacity, and pain and suffering. At trial, these experts can testify as to the accuracy of those figures and the process of computing those figures. NST lawyers know how to present their testimony to the jury in a clear and convincing manner. In addition, NST lawyers can clearly convey a client’s injuries or extent of suffering to a jury or judge.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol Colonel Tracy Trott, the number of people killed in fatal car crashes in Tennessee for the first half of 2011 is less than the number killed during the first half of 2010. From January 1, 2011, through June 30, 2011, 440 people have died in Tennessee car crashes, down from 517 fatalities during those dates in 2010. While fewer motorists have been killed, more have been arrested for driving under the influence (“DUI”). In the first half of 2011, Tennessee law enforcement officials have arrested 2132 Tennesseans for DUI compared to 1631 in 2010, an increase of 30.7%. Trott says there is a “direct correlation between the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s increased efforts to crack down on drunk drivers and the number of people killed in motor vehicle accidents on [Tennessee] roadways.”
Recently, law enforcement agencies across Tennessee have increased efforts to keep our streets and highways safe. For example, roadblocks are often set up to catch drivers who speed and drive under the influence. These roadblocks also deter drivers from engaging in that type of behavior. Unfortunately, however, drivers still get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol and put others in harm’s way. Scientific studies have proven the negative effects alcohol has on a driver. A driver’s judgment becomes impaired. In addition, a driver’s reaction times become slower. If you have lost a loved one in a car accident in Shelby County, call the Memphis auto accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) at 901-683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004.
A fatal car accident is painful for all involved, especially surviving family members. NST Law recognizes this and can seek a pre-trial settlement to save everyone the time and expense of going to trial. However, if a reasonable settlement cannot be reached with the defendant driver or his insurance company, NST Law will be prepared to file a lawsuit and fight for you in court. Your NST lawyer can aggressively pursue maximum damages for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. To prove these damages, your NST lawyer can retain various experts. Medical experts can document hospital bills, surgery costs, and medication expenses. Vocational economists can compute a deceased’s loss of future wages. Psychiatric experts can evaluate the pain and suffering a family member experiences after losing a loved one in a crash. In addition, your NST lawyer can utilize knowledge of Tennessee law to pursue punitive damages if the defendant driver has been convicted of DUI.

According to WBIR Knoxville, a man injured in a four-vehicle crash in Anderson County, Tennessee, on May 13, 2011, has died. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported a man was rounding a curve on a northbound lane of Clinton Highway near Turkey Road when his truck fishtailed. After clipping another vehicle, his truck ended up sideways in the southbound lane of Clinton Highway. The truck was t-boned by another vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man. The fourth vehicle involved then crashed into the 36-year-old’s car. The 36-year-old driver was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he died on May 16, 2011.
Fatal car crashes claim the lives of many Tennesseans each year. In 2010, over 1000 people died in motor vehicle accidents in Tennessee, 4% more than in 2009. These devastating car accidents can break up families and leave surviving family members responsible for picking up the pieces. For instance, if the primary income earner of a family is killed in a car accident, his or her surviving loved ones will not be able to depend on that person’s paycheck for basic expenses, such as food, clothing, and education.
The Knoxville car accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) understand the difficulties a family can face when a loved one is killed prematurely in an auto accident.
