According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal, a 10-year-old girl was killed in a car accident in Memphis, Tennessee, on July 27, 2011. According to the Hindustan Times, a Tennessee minister, Mariam Pitchai, died in a car accident in India on May 23, 2011. He was riding in a vehicle that crashed into another car from behind.
