The Arkansas State Police Highway Safety Office announced Arkansas police and law enforcement agencies will team up in an attempt to crack down on underage drinking and driving. Officers will set up DUI checkpoints and sobriety patrols throughout Arkansas in March and April 2011. In Arkansas, teenagers driving with a BAC between .02 and .07 can be arrested for driving under the influence (DUI), and those with a BAC of .08 and above can be arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI). Each spring, teenage drunken driving typically increases due to Proms, spring break trips, and graduations. The Arkansas auto accident attorneys at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz warn clients about the dangers of underage drunk driving and protect clients hit by drunk drivers.
Underage drunk driving is dangerous and can be deadly. A drunk driver’s judgment is impaired and his or her reaction times are slower, increasing the probability of an accident. Teenagers can feel invincible when drinking and peer pressure can cause them to drive after drinking. Teenagers put themselves, their passengers, and innocent victims at risk when driving drunk. Since many drunk driving car crashes are fatal, underage drunk driving accidents can devastate families by taking away their loved ones or seriously injuring them.
If you have been injured or lost a loved one in an Arkansas drunk driving accident, contact the Arkansas auto accident lawyers at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) at 1-800-LAW-4004 or www.nstlaw.com.
