Thursday, April 14th, 2011

According to the Cleveland Daily Banner, a 45-year-old man and 41-year-old woman were arrested for leading police on a high-speed chase down Interstate 75 in Bradley County, Tennessee, in March 2011. Initially, Bradley County sheriffs spotted a pickup truck that had been reported as stolen driving on Interstate 75.  The 45-year-old man was driving the truck, and the sheriffs followed in pursuit. On I-75, the man swerved in and out of traffic to avoid the officers.  He then exited I-75 at Paul Huff Road, hitting four private passenger vehicles in the process.  As he turned from Paul Huff Road onto Georgetown Road, he struck two more vehicles, causing him to lose control of the truck and enter the yard of a private residence.  Law enforcement arrested the suspects. The driver faces many charges, including reckless driving and reckless endangerment.  Paramedics assisted at the scene, but it is not known if anyone was seriously injured.

People see high-speed chases between individuals and police on television and the news.  Many times, chases are seen from the vantage point of a helicopter or other aerial camera.  While third parties can easily ascertain the risks and dangers of high-speed chases, those who have experienced being in the middle of a high-speed interstate police chase know just how dangerous they can be.  If you have been injured in a high-speed car accident on Interstate 40, Interstate 240, Interstate 55 or anywhere in Tennessee, call the Tennessee auto accident lawyers at Nahon, Saharovich, and Trotz (“NST Law”) at (901) 683-7000 or 1-800-LAW-4004 and let us put our resources and knowledge towards your case.  Victims hit by speeding drivers can suffer whiplash, brain injury, memory loss, back pain, nerve damage, or other serious injuries.  At NST, we have experience dealing with many types of personal injuries and know how to fight for clients to recover maximum damages for medical bills, pain and suffering, lost wages, and permanent disability in their car accident lawsuits.  We use knowledge of Tennessee driving and insurance laws to fight for clients to receive every dollar they are legally entitled to.
