Man Sentenced for Role in Fatal Car Crash in Chattanooga, Tennessee

According to the Associated Press, a Chattanooga man has been sentenced to seven years in jail for his role in a 2009 fatal hit-and-run car accident.  He was convicted of vehicular homicide in March 2011 after crashing into a woman in downtown Chattanooga on a December 2009 morning.  The man drove away from the scene of the crash but was later found by police.  Witnesses for the prosecution told the jury the man had consumed alcohol and smoked marijuana hours before the crash at a late night party.
