According to the Associated Press, an Arkansas man was killed when he was run over by a semitrailer in a bar parking lot near Fort Smith. On April 5, 2011, the driver exited the bar and attempted to drive home with his wife. Other bar patrons tried to prevent him from driving because they believed he was too intoxicated to drive and placed him in his wife’s semitrailer to calm him down. He found a spare key and then started the semitrailer. The victim tried to stop the man from driving by pulling the wires on the back of the cab. However, he was run over and killed. The driver has been charged with manslaughter.

NST Law has the resources to effectively handle your case and help you obtain maximum compensation at trial or by settlement. First, Team NST has knowledge of Arkansas laws and regulations. Arkansas Dram Shop laws can hold a bar liable for the actions of its customers. For example, if a bar knowingly serves alcohol to a visibly drunk customer, the bar could be held responsible for any damages caused by that customer. In addition to this knowledge, NST lawyers can consult with experts to prove a driver’s negligence. For example, your NST lawyer can retain a toxicologist to help determine if a driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Proving negligence helps clients recover all of the damages they are legally entitled to.
